The Adams Companies, LLC (TAC) was established in 2005 primarily to assist aiport owners and operators, as well as aviation engineering and planning firms, with aviation planning and administrative problems. As the aviation industry has changed, TAC has evolved to specialize in Independent Fees Estimates (IFE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) planning and reporting. As the aviation community changes, TAC will remain a dymanic and innovative company which seeks to provide the highest quality aviation services and expertise in these ever-changing times.
For over 30 years, Mr. Gary Adams has worked in airport planning, development and construction. In 2005, he founded The Adams Companies, L.L.C. Mr. Adams serves as the President of TAC. In addition to Mr. Adams, Mr. Richard (Dick) Spaeth and Mr.
Ascension (Sonny) Najera have joined the organization as
associates. Both are former State Aviation Directors with extensive experience in aviation administration, financing, and planning.
Prior to forming his own company, Mr. Adams served as the
Assistant Aviation Director for an international engineering firm directing and overseeing their western U.S. aviation market and clients. Mr. Adams assisted clients in meeting their needs to facilitate operation, development, and expansion. During the course of his career, Mr. Adams has served as the program or project manager for over 100 planning assignments. His experience covers a wide range of transportation planning and environmental processes. He maintains a strong emphasis on federal and state aviation issues at airports of varying size and function. With his core base of experience in the public sector, Mr. Adams also possesses an in-depth understanding of the airport
operator’s requirements.
Mr. Adams spent over 25 years with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). During his last 16 years, he was the Director of the Aeronautics Division and was responsible for an annual statewide airport capital improvement program of over $120 million. This position included responsibility for recommending and setting statewide aviation policies and strategic planning.
In addition, he was responsible for all aspects of the operation, management and development of the state-owned Grand Canyon National Park Airport. This medium hub airport was the third busiest air carrier facility in Arizona, located in a remote yet scenic tourist destination. Mr. Adams has been deeply involved in environmental, development and construction issues related to the airport and
commercial tour operators.
